Account Deletion & Data Removal

We value your privacy. Below you will find instructions on how to delete your account directly within the app, or you can submit a deletion request using the form below.

1. How to Delete Your Account In-App

The fastest way to delete your account and remove your personal information is directly through our mobile application:

  1. Open the Kismet app on your device.
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Navigate to Profile from your profile bottom navigation menu.
  4. Tap on the Gear Icon in the top right corner.
  5. Click on Delete Account.
  6. Confirm your choice. Your personal identity will be immediately removed from the active platform.

2. Request Deletion via Web Form

If you no longer have the app installed, please submit your account details below to initiate the data erasure process.

3. Data Transparency & Lifecycle Disclosure

In compliance with applicable data protection laws, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, requesting account closure sets off an immediate process to separate your identity from active platform assets:

Permanently Cleared From Active Profile

All direct personal identifiers are instantly wiped or scrubbed from active user records:

  • Your full name, customized bio information, and profile media
  • Personalized account settings and authentication credentials
  • Precise geographic and chronological indicators (such as your full birthdate)

Anonymized Interaction Records

Non-identifying structural attributes are preserved so that existing histories remain functional for other users without linking to your identity:

  • Your account will appear universally as a generic "Deleted User"
  • Aggregated demographic tags (such as country or general age bracket) are separated from your identity
  • Past chat histories are preserved anonymously to protect your messaging partners' user experience

Statutory Data Retention Notice

Please note that requesting account deletion does not result in an immediate purge of necessary network logs. In accordance with legal obligations under applicable cyber security guidelines and data fiduciary regulations, minimal access logs and verification records are held securely in an isolated environment for a mandatory period of 180 days.

This isolated, temporary archive is strictly utilized for:

  • Fulfilling valid state regulatory compliance, legal hold directives, or authorized security investigations
  • Platform defense mechanisms, including preventing repeated bad-actor abuse or enforcement of platform safety bans

Following the expiration of this statutory 180-day window, these compliance safeguards are automatically and permanently erased from our database.
