Every profile uses a 2D avatar. Real-world photographs are never collected, requested, or stored on Kismet's servers.
See profiles of real people nearby. Location is only shared as a relative distance — your exact coordinates are never revealed to other users.
Chat with your matches via text and audio messages. Messages are accessible only to the participants and are never scanned by background algorithms.
Get notified when you receive a new match request or message. Notification preferences are fully adjustable from within the app.
Report or block any user directly from the chat or profile screen. All reports are reviewed by the developer; serious violations result in permanent bans.
Delete your account and all associated personal data at any time — directly from the app or via the web form.
Kismet uses Google Sign-In solely to authenticate your identity so you can create or access your Kismet account securely. We do not use Google Sign-In for anything beyond account authentication.

Yes. Kismet is a free, independently-developed app. There are no paid tiers, subscriptions, or in-app purchases at this time.
Kismet collects your email address (for authentication), your avatar and profile data, your approximate location (with your permission), and messages between matched users. No real photos are ever collected. See the full Privacy Policy for details.
You can delete your account from within the Kismet app under account settings, or by submitting a request through the account deletion form. All personal data is removed immediately upon deletion.
Tap the report button on any profile or within any chat conversation to flag a user. All reports are personally reviewed by the developer. Users found to violate the community standards are permanently banned.
