To operate Kismet, specific data points are gathered when you create an account and interact within the platform:
- Profile Data: Your customized 2D avatar, bio text, gender selection, and designated interests. Real-world photographs are neither collected nor stored.
- Location Data: Subject to explicit device permission, relative geolocation details are processed to facilitate local matching features.
- Communications & Report Data: Text and audio messages sent between matches are securely retained in the database. Please note: I do not monitor or scan your private chats using automated background algorithms. Private messages are accessed and reviewed solely if a user submits an official in-app safety report regarding that conversation.
- Account Data: Your email address, utilized exclusively for account verification, session authentication, and secure login management.
2. How I Use Information
Your data is processed exclusively to maintain and provide core app functions. This includes processing local matching indicators, handling functional in-app push notifications (such as system status messages or alerts regarding new matches and text communications adjusted by your in-app settings), and executing essential safety reviews based on user-submitted logs.
3. Visibility & Sharing
When navigating the app, your public profile attributes (Avatar, Bio, Interests, Gender, and relative distance) are visible to neighboring profiles. Your private contact email addresses remain confidential and are never revealed to other users. I do not sell, lease, or rent your personal data to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or external entities.
4. Strict No-Marketing Policy
Your personal contact channels are respected. Your email address is used solely for account setup, verification loops, password restoration, and critical platform-related updates. I do not issue promotional newsletters, marketing campaigns, or third-party ads. Immediate social interactions are delivered strictly via standard on-device push notification parameters managed directly from your device.
5. Your Data Rights & Account Deletion
In accordance with global data protection expectations and Google Play requirements, you retain the right to review, correct, or request the immediate removal of your personal information. These requests can be submitted directly from the application account menu or via the web removal form.
What happens when you execute an account deletion request:
- Immediate Profile Scrubbing: All direct personal identifiers—including account names, contact email addresses, custom bio text, avatars, authentication credentials, and location histories—are immediately and permanently purged or completely overwritten in active database tables.
- Anonymized Interaction Continuity: To preserve functional consistency for other active users, non-identifying structural data (such as previous chat messages) remains accessible but is completely unlinked from your historic profile. Your historical presence will permanently render under a generic "Deleted User" designation.
- Compliance & Anti-Abuse Hold (180 Days): To satisfy technical integrity needs, manage valid safety exceptions, and handle official law enforcement disclosures, minimal metadata logs and an isolated verification hash are maintained securely on the backend for a fixed window of 180 days.
Following the expiration of this 180-day retention loop, all residual tracking identifiers are fully and automatically cleared from secondary system data structures.

7. Security & Limitations
I implement reasonable standard technical, administrative, and data management measures designed to safeguard personal information against external disclosure, unauthorized access, or loss.
However, no digital data framework or web-connected transport protocol can be classified as completely flawless. Accordingly, absolute data security cannot be guaranteed.
By maintaining an active user profile on Kismet, you recognize and agree to accept these baseline technical risks associated with networked app ecosystems.
